National Chemistry Week
The Salt Lake Section sponsors a National Chemistry Week Event for K-6 students at the Salt Lake City Public Library each October.
This theme of NCW in 2007 is "The Many Faces of Chemistry". NCW will be celebrated October 21-27, 2007. This years event at the Salt Lake City Public Library is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2007, from noon to 4 pm. Professors Robyn Hyde and Paul Hooker from Westminster College of Salt Lake City have agreed to act as NCW Coordinators for the Salt Lake section for a second year. Expanding Your Horizons
This event is held annually, on a Saturday in the month of November, in Ogden, Utah for middle school girls interested in science and math. Conference registration is for girls in grades 6-9 in any school from Farmington northward. ATK Thiokol sponsors this event. The 2007 conference will be held Saturday November 3rd.

Chemistry Olympiad
This event, sponsored by the ACS, consists of a written and laboratory exam for high school students, with winners competing at the national level for inclusion on the U.S. team. Local section members work with the area high schools.
Science Olympiad
The Utah Science Olympiad is held in the spring at Weber State University. Local junior high and high school students compete for a chance to represent Utah in the National Science Olympiad.
